Sorry for the hiatus!

I apologize for the lack of posts over the two months. In honesty, I had a severe case of writer's block combined with a new set of obligations (school and a baby). But with Doug Bird out of the way, I can let my creative juices flow and again, and I think my son is at an age where he can start writing some of my pieces (hey, he's five months old already!) So I hope entries can appear more regularly. Thanks for sticking with the site in nervous anticipation of the 100 Greatest Royals of All-Time list and I hope to add some other segments this dreary off-season.

A baby? Come on, man - that's no excuse for reduced blogging productivity. You have to have priorities!

Seriously, though, congratulations on the kid. At five months, I can promise that the best days are far behind you (just wait until he starts crawling and walking - if he's anything like mine, it'll be hell on two feet). It's good to have you back in the blogosphere.

Love your stuff Max, it's good to have you back, and congrats on the baby! I'm sure you've been a very, very busy, sleep deprived man...

Question... Since you started this 100 Greatest Royals List almost 2 years ago now, how have the past two seasons, and the accomplishments of the players, and additions of players since the list was started changed your list? Are you accommodating for that? John Buck surely would be a few notches higher on the list by now right?

Yea, the list has changed since I started it, and what has been kind of misleading is that I have adjusted as time has gone on. I wrote John Buck at the beginning of the 2007 season I believe, so he'd be much higher now, but I wrote Mark Teahen during the 2008 season and I accounted for his 2007 season, so that's unfair to Buck. I'll probably submit a revised list when I'm done writing all the biographies. There have also been more than a few players - Greinke, Soria, Grudz - that have made the list now, that weren't on it when I started.

I came to your site because of a past post about Bruce Dal Canton. Don't know if you heard, but he past away from cancer. Just figured I'd pass away the news. I'm a Braves fan and he's been so instrumental to our pitching prospects. Kyle Davies was great under him for 14 games in 2004.
